With the tumultuous 2017 almost over, it’s time to dissect and drool over the eclectic looks created by this year’s tantrum-throwing (well, some of them) teams in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia.
From whimsical playrooms and sleek study nooks to daring dining and luxe living spaces, it’s been a roller-coaster reno ride full of twists, turns…..and terrific furniture.
We’ve loved watching these pioneering pairs try to out-build, out-style, out-shop and out-accessories one another – sometimes with mixed results – but always with plenty of originality and unexpected ideas…and it doesn’t get much more Matt Blatt than that.
Check out the wonderful ways the contestants used their Matt Blatt buys to bring various rooms to life…
From velvet sofas to mismatched dining chairs and avant-garde artworks – check out the wonderful ways the teams have used their Matt Blatt buys to bring their rooms to life on screen…
Troy & Bec’s house – New South Wales
From out-there art to flexible furniture, the teams used clever combos to create a luxe lounge, eye-catching entrance and suave dining space at Troy and Bec’s place.
A concrete table and glam black chairs were bang-on buying to build a sophisticated entertining space, while a picture-perfect shade of blue was the perfect backdrop hue to showcase Celeset Wrona’s epic abstract art. In the lounge, fab armchairs do double duty as day and sofabeds for lazy afternoons or last-minute sleepovers – creative thinking to get maximum bang for their buck.
Kate & Harry’s house – South Australia
The contestants took Kate and Harry’s dining room from drab to fab with a retro-inspired pastel makeover packed with mismatched dining chairs, a gorgeous gallery wall and eclectic tableware, while in the living room a dramatic dark wall behind the TV and Danish-inspired entertainment unit combined to create an elegant, contemporary vibe and a modern monochrome study nook was brought to life using animal inspo and top-to-toe cow style. Brilliant!
