Matt Blatt is mad about colour…and so are the fabulous forecasters from the Pantone Color Institute. Whether you’re looking to introduce this year’s feature colour – Classic Blue – via fresh accessories or a statement sofa, Matt Blatt’s vivid collection has it covered.
Neither navy nor royal blue, the new hue is more like the colour of your fave pair of jeans. Describing it, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute, Laurie Pressman, has called it ‘a reassuring blue, full of calm and confidence….(which) builds connection’, highlighting ‘dependability, trustworthiness, credibility and constancy, all traits that are valued in the fast-paced, high-stress situations of the current world’.
“Classic Blue is a new cult classic which works, well…everywhere,” advised Matt Blatt founder Adam Drexler. Our customers have been embracing shades of blue for the past couple of seasons, so we’re confident they’ll quickly get on board with Classic Blue too since it’s striking enough to make a statement without being overbearing. It’s also unlikely to date anytime soon, which is a key consideration for customers buying investment pieces, such as sofas.”
Adam suggested pairing Classic Blue with white and dark timbers for a tried-and-tested nautical look, or with lilac or forest green alongside gold accent pieces for an avant-garde look that’s striking and bold.
“We’re delighted to have a wide range of products in both classic and complementary blue hues across both our showrooms and online store to meet anticipated demand for this stylish new shade.”
And, for those who aren’t ready to commit to a new blue sofa or set of chairs, Adam suggests experimenting with accessories as a fab way to introduce a new shade.
