CARING FOR OUTDOOR FURNITURE
Our new outdoor furniture collection is seriously good looking – and we want it to stay that way – which is why we recommend you only use it outdoors in under cover areas away from direct sunlight or rain, such as sheltered balconies or covered patios.
When not in use, we recommend storing inside or using dedicated outdoor furniture covers, which are available from major hardware retailers; and storing inside in a dry, non-heated room when not being used during the winter months.
Please check out our materials-specific maintenance guide below to keep your new outdoor piece in tip-top condition:
Poly-stone is an organic material made from cement, silica, sand, water and stone powder which has been reinforced with polyester resin and polyfoam. Boasting a raw, unpolished finish, poly-stone is a porous product with unique characteristics – meaning no two poly-stone products will be exactly the same.
Although poly-stone has a long lifespan, its porous structure means it is sensitive to spills, making it important to clean up any spillages immediately. Light stains should be tackled with water and mild soap, then rinsed with water and thoroughly dried with a towel. Small cracks, fissures and deeper stains can be removed using a fine-grained sandpaper. Following sanding, the product will need to be re-sealed for future protection.
To keep poly-stone in tip-top shape, it’s recommended you treat it with a cement sealer two to three times a year.
Acacia timber is a sustainable hardwood which is native to Australia but also found in parts of Asia, Africa and the Americas. A smooth timber with a spectacular wood grain finish, Acacia is sturdy and naturally resistant to stains and wear and tear, making it an excellent choice for premium furniture pieces.
As a natural product, acacia timber can expand and contract under different weather conditions, which may lead to microscopic fractures in the wood, which is perfectly natural and part of the unique character of owning a natural timber product. To keep your acacia timber furniture looking fab, we advise an annual sandpapering of the top coating layer, followed by a fresh layer of transparent PU coating to help maintain its colour and condition. Cleaning acacia timber furniture is quick and easy. Just use a mild soapy water solution, wipe with a damp cloth and then dry thoroughly with a clean towel.
Our new wicker outdoor furniture is crafted using a sturdy eco-friendly PU (polyethylene) synthetic wicker which boasts all the good looks of natural wicker but without the maintenance or deterioration of its natural counterpart. To clean, use a gently cloth with a mild soap water solution, then wipe with a clean damp cloth and dry with a towel. Always remove any moisture (rain, spills etc) with a gentle, dry cloth.
ALUMINIUM & STEEL
Our aluminium and steel alfresco furniture has been galvanised or powder coated for protection against fading or corrosion. To clean, wipe with a mild soap water solution, then rinse with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly with a towel. To keep it in tip-top condition, inspect periodically for any scratches, scrapes or rust spots, then touch up with paint in matching colours to correct minor imperfections.
